We prepare young people with skills for life in the Benton Area

Preparing young people with skills for life. We’re Scouts and everyone is welcome. Every week we help more than 250 people aged 4-18 develop skills for life.

Giving back will improve your wellbeing, equip you with skills for the future, and help you make a positive impact on the lives of young people

Whatever your background, identity or ability, there’s a volunteer spot with your name on it.

As a volunteer in Scouts, you’ll:

  • Make friends and meet people
  • Try new things and challenge yourself
  • Get outdoors and get stuck in
  • Positively impact your community
  • Create vital opportunities for young people
  • Make memories that’ll last a lifetime

If you can only occasionally help, that’s OK. Whether you’d like to be an activity planner, tea-make or craft creator, we appreciate any time you can spare.

We have 6 Scout Groups and 2 Explorer Units across, Benton, in Backworth, Killingworth, Shiremoor, Benton, Wideopen and Westmoor.
